What is Chianti?
It is a red blend from Tuscany that is made with the Sangiovese grape and may also include the varietals Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Taste Profile:
Chianti has flavours of red fruits, bitter herbs, balsamic vinegar, and smoke. Aromas of cherries are common to the Chianti. It is also a very dry wine that can vary from light to medium-bodied depending on the process it is made. The high acidity and course tannins present make it a great wine to pair with food.
