What is a Red Blend?
A red blend in short is any wine that is not made from a specific grape variety and they typically consist of at least 40%-50% of one type of grape and a smaller mix of two or more additional grapes. Blending wine can enhance specific characteristics of wine such as the aroma, colour, body, texture and finish, allowing a more complex and well-rounded wine. Common varietals used in Blending are the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec.
