Shiraz

What is Shiraz?

It is one of the darkest wines available and is even darker than Cabernet Sauvignon. The original name of the grape is Syrah, but has changed over time due to varying pronounciations of the variety. This variety also varies in taste depending on the area it is grown. You can determine the climate that the Shiraz is from the alcohol content alcohol content above >14% tend to be from warmer regions and <14% from cooler. 

Taste Profile:

Shiraz has is full-bodied with high tannins making the level of mouth-dryness high when consumed . Flavours of tobacco, smoke, cherries, and pepper can be found within the wine. The tastes can vary from climate in the style of Shiraz.
